Example of Caroll Spinney's autograph? « Result #1 on Dec 8, 2009, 1:01am »
Hello Everyone, I just joined and I have a question for you. I purchased a copy of The Wisdom of Big Bird less than a year ago. I buy so books and read alot; I only got to Caroll's book recently; I didn't even realize it wasn't published within the last year (alright, so I read alot but it doesn't stop me from being behind the times or clueless).
I noticed that on the very first page when you open the book (not the title page), the book appears to be signed--BIG BIRD! in large caps with an exclamation point and underneath slightly to the right, 'Spinney'.
Were there any copies or reprints of the book with Caroll Spinney's signature preprinted on the page I described or could I have purchased a book that just happened to be signed by Caroll Spinney. Unfortunately I have no recollection where I purchased the book but I believe it was one of the few times I ddn't buy online and I do recall I wasn't particularly looking for a signed book.
Can anyone help with some advice based on my description or possibly even email me an example of the authograph on a signed copy of the book (or for that matter, any CS signed item).
I'd really appreciate the help. i've been a fan of Caroll's for years and my heart just jumped when i saw the book.
Caroll Spinney's Distant Cousin? « Result #6 on Nov 4, 2009, 10:45am »
My name is Alan Spinney, a grandson of George Alva Spinney, who was born and raised in Boston. My grandfather would be 88 years old if he were still alive today (he passed in 1987). I was always told as a boy that my grandfather and Caroll Spinney were first cousins, which of course would make me a distant cousin of Caroll's. Is there an e-mail for Caroll Spinney so that I can send him a note asking him if this is true?
